Speaking to media, Wheatley explained: "I'll be honest with you, there was an article that came out in Miami last year. I wasn't happy." "When I commit to a team, I commit to it." — Reflecting on his career, Wheatley noted his long tenures at previous teams: "Sixteen years at Benetton/Renault, XX years at Red Bull and I have no intention of leaving here [Sauber/Audi] either, so that opened up a lot of conversations with many teams." — Since joining Sauber in April 2025, Wheatley has made a significant impact, with the team achieving consistent points finishes. Reacting to Nico Hulkenberg's podium at the British Grand Prix, Wheatley remarked: "I think it's the longest overdue podium in the history of Formula 1." "Look at him today, he just delivered an absolute masterclass. An extraordinary performance." — Wheatley also praised the Sauber team for their progress: "The team made all the right calls. It feels like we're going in the right direction now." "A little bit of nerves in the pit stops, I think. But other than that, what a performance." #redbullracing 🇦🇹 #sauberf1 🇩🇪 #formula1 #f12025 VIA: [PLANET F1] XXX engagements **Related Topics** [a very](/topic/a-very) [red bull](/topic/red-bull) [prix](/topic/prix) [miami grand](/topic/miami-grand) [miami grand prix](/topic/miami-grand-prix) [formula 1](/topic/formula-1) [Post Link](https://x.com/ThisIsFormu1a1/status/1946775778861207614)
