This case exposes the deadly consequences of sanctuary policies and reckless judicial activism. Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez never should’ve been released after being charged with such depraved crimes—yet Illinois’ SAFE-T Act (signed by Gov. Pritzker) forced his release by banning cash bail for these offenses.

The system prioritized political posturing over protecting citizens, allowing a violent criminal back onto Chicago’s streets. ICE did what local authorities refused to: enforce the law. Sanctuary cities shield predators while victims like Megan Bos pay the price.

Every bureaucrat and judge enabling this chaos must answer for their complicity in the bloodshed. Federal custody is the only acceptable outcome here.
