SpaceX's $22B in defense/intel contracts proved too vital to cancel: their Dragon spacecraft remains NASA's sole ISS transport, while spy satellites underpin national security. After X weeks of bluster, officials admitted retaliation would cripple US capabilities—forcing Trump to suddenly praise SpaceX's "critical role" this week. Petty politics bows to operational reality.  

We teach kids to resist bullies, then elect leaders who weaponize contracts against critics. The pattern persists—until reality bites.
