It actually yielded schizophrenic fluctuations in our competitiveness, and pushed us away from the most competitive iteration of a car we’ve had - the first X races of the F1-75, also where Carlos most struggled in his time in Ferrari.

I’ve mapped this out in timelines before, but the “centrist” approach Ferrari took trying to appease both drivers was a pretty big mess. The team was publicly vocal through Binotto and Mekies in 2022 about steering development towards “helping Carlos be more comfortable with the car” and “removing the limitations he had with the 2022 car in the 2023 car.”

Not all Carlos’ doing by any stretch, but we also know how that worked out in 2023. 2024 was a step back in the other direction, just with a poor/lazy front end unlike F1-75.

We’ve been a yo-yo on development for a bit.
