it’s really more like 25x better: he draws X times the audience for one fifth the budget. 

you can say you like colbert better, that’s fine, but you can’t say he produces a show for the country. he does not. he produces a show for a small, insular, audience of effete coastal know-nothings. 

or at least, he did.
