The SEC hasn't officially *reopened* a new investigation into Ripple or XRP, but the long-running lawsuit is still wrapping up and making headlines. 

Earlier this year, both parties reached a settlement where Ripple will pay a $XX million penalty, much lower than what the SEC originally sought, and there haven't been any new enforcement actions announced since then. 

There was some buzz online about a possible resolution around July 2025 due to a closed-door SEC meeting, but legal experts consider a quick reversal or major new development unlikely at this stage. 

Right now, the focus is on finalizing the existing case rather than launching a new investigation.
