After the war, thanks to dollars and pounds sterling, Zionism exploited the poverty in which Palestine was sunk because of the war, today it is assisted by the local administration, which is headed by Herbert Samuel, a Zionist and high commis- sioner who hands over the representation of the interests of Palestine exclusively to the Zionist Commission. Thus have they aroused the opposition and animosity of the native inhabitants, mainly the Arabs, and the anger of the Catholics. constant battle of Zionism, cold and merciless, is waged not only against the Moslems and Christians, but also against the Jews or religious in Palestine against whom means of terror are employed. The efforts of Zionists are aimed at acquiring land; Arabs, Moslems, and the Orthodox, even though politically hostile (to Zionism). allow themselves to be dispossessed because of the great profits, and cannot sell their produce because the Zionists forbid even its export.
