The primary extradition treaty between the United States and the United Kingdom is the Extradition Treaty between the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, signed in 2003 and implemented by both countries.

The treaty modernized the extradition relationship between the U.S. and the U.K. and strengthened each country’s ability to extradite serious offenders wanted for a wide variety of crimes — including terrorism, violent crimes, organized crime, white-collar offenses, and the unthinkable, conspiracy to overthrow the United States government.
