Eddington movie is quite the ride.  I read no reviews so had no idea what to expect from my XXX hour commitment. Joaquin Phoenix plays Joe Cross, a sheriff in small town New Mexico. The film period is early pandemic - quite a sobering reliving of the things we all went through in 2020-2021. Emma Stone plays his trad wife and that’s not going well. Mother in law is a conspiracy theorist. Basically, Cross’s world is coming undone from every imaginable angle and on top of that he has beef with Mayor Garcia (Pedro Pascal).  Starts off a little slow but the character work and story is an important foundation to the action and drama in the final act.  Great film for true original story film fans. $AMC
