The tail of a Breeze Airways Airbus A220-300 (N247BZ) plane was struck by an All Nippon Airways B787 aircraft while parked at Charleston International Airport (CHS), after flight was diverted late July XX.

The Rudder and vertical stabilizer of the Airbus aircraft received substantial damage to ground the aircraft at CHS.

As per Breeze Airways, the flight MX509 travelling from Las Vegas (LAS), NV to Norfolk (ORF), VA was diverted to Charleston around 9:30 p.m. due to thunderstorms in the Norfolk area Friday evening. After safely landing and parking to await a refuel, the tail of the plane was struck by a taxiing All Nippon Airways (ANA) Boeing 787-10 around 9:49 p.m.
