I was wearing a t-shirt with my home course logo on it. Someone commented, ‘wear a collared shirt and show some respect for the game!’ Respect? Yeah. It can’t be the guy taking a shit in the treeline at hole X. It can’t be the guy hitting XX divots he never repairs. It can’t be the two drunk foursomes beating the shit out of each other at the turn over slow play. It can’t be the drunk guy doing donuts on the wet fairway on hole XX. It must be my t-shirt. The ultimate sign of disrespect for the game. 🙄 I’ll wear whatever the course allows that brings me the most comfort. I’m a very respectful golfer. I fix all of my divots and then some. I clean out my cart upon return. I pick up random trash when I see it. I shake hands after the 18th. ‘Wear a collared shirt!’ Is some boomer shit you heard that you repeat because you think it makes you sound like a seasoned golfer. If I’m at TPC Sawgrass, I’ll be in a collared shirt. If I’m playing a muni in bumfucked Kentucky, I’ll wear a t-shirt if the course allows. Get fucked, nerd.
