Some lack either the ability or the willingness to forecast more than X months into the future. Even if you share high quality sources (e.g., describing major sector trends, they don’t understand the implications. It’s not about XX MW. It’s about the XXX MW already energized and the X GW energized soon. It’s also about the terms for monetizing that entire pipeline… The market is starting to realize this too, but some clearly never will… Additionally, it’s fascinating the number of people who transitioned from soyjak to chudjak. In response to round-tripping multiple times, many have adopted the perspective that past behavior predicts future performance. Therefore, because $IREN has been in a trading range for X years, they think it must continue to be in a trading range (and probably sold their positions now). There is no acknowledgement of major fundamental changes such as the fact that IREN in its first quarter only reported bitcoin mining revenue of $20m. Today, IREN reports monthly bitcoin mining revenue of $65m… The devil is in the details I suppose, but it should be obvious that things are different now. Skeptics will doubt that IREN can scale its AI/HPC revenue from $30m to $100m to $1B. However, IREN has a history of proving doubters wrong (e.g., scaling their EH from X to XX in a year). As always, if anyone really has strong convictions that IREN will fail, short the company! We’re all just making bets in the end.
