The Upper West Regional Police Command has confirmed the conviction of 31-year-old Issahaku Waris to seven years in prison for defiling a five-year-old female child on Thursday, April 24, 2025. 

Following his arrest two days after the incident, the suspect was brought before the Wa Circuit Court, presided over by His Lordship Jonathan Avoogo, and was handed the sentence on Friday, July 18, 2025.
