I helped this family get to the refugee camp in UAE (United Arab Emirates) where they’ve been waiting for four years, following the legal immigration path. They passed all their background checks, medicals etc & were told they were cleared to go to the U.S. in July of 2023. Then nothing. Until two days ago when the Taliban were brought into the camp & this process of forcing them back to Afghanistan to be murdered was started. This is a crisis not of Pres Trump’s making but these people stepped up when the US needed help & the price for that is death. They will go anywhere they can be safe but returning to Kabul to be tortured & killed by a terrorist regime is not an option they can bear.
