It is not true that it's mostly Jews who are objecting to the release of the Epstein files (whatever people mean by this- because the files that actually exist won't validate what people want). Most Jews, and most other Americans, couldn't care less about what happens with this topic. What a lot of Jewish voices are objecting to is the unsubstantiated conspiracies driving the conversation because they know the motivation behind them. A few years ago, the main joke and discussion around the Epstein case related to the Clintons. Bill Clinton was by far the biggest politician closely connected to Epstein. Yet you will notice the discussions today are almost completely omitting him because they are being aimed at a specific narrative, not getting to the truth. It's meant to add on to a larger effort, and the Epstein case is just another tool to drive that effort. To explain what many of us know is happening and why Jews, in particular, are loudly objecting, I need to explain what happened during the Weimar Republic: The entire Nazi strategy was to use Jews as a scapegoat for Germany's suffering post WWI. They wanted to convince other Germans that the problems they faced all stemmed from this one group. To do that, they started an extensive propaganda effort focused on conspiracies where Jews were somehow responsible for every bad thing that happened. Despite being a small percentage of the German population, various Jews were blamed for causing the loss in WWI, blamed for the economic collapse, and blamed for cultural degeneration. The goal was to otherize Jews within German society so people would conclude Jews have too much power, aren't really German, and need to be separated out from German society. Those conspiracies focused on claims that Jews had loyalties outside of Germany and thus were using that power to undermine the country (sound familiar?). This effort is heavily reliant on selective information, falsehoods, and focus on particular individuals based exclusively on their religion. Back in reality, you can do this with any group, but Jews are such a smallll portion of the population that it becomes easier to paint them with that broad brush. Eventually, this narrative became mainstream, which then led to a lot of laws restricting where Jews could work, who they could marry, whether they could serve in the military, and then where they could live. All of this was a precursor to the Holocaust because the inevitable endpoint was that Jews had to be completely separated from society. Because Jews make up such a small portion of the population, they weren't in a position to do much about it once the Nazis were in power and the narrative took hold. This is exactly what some people are trying to achieve now in the United States. They are trying to normalize the view that Jews are the problem and are responsible for most bad things that happen, and that they need to be separated from the rest of society. Not everyone fully understands the Weimar Republic history, but the attempt to normalize that same narrative is obvious and that's why Jews are vocally objecting. It's the entire point of all of the "Israel controls the U.S. government" stuff. It's why Tucker has on a Nazi apologist guest to rewrite WWII history and then claim the Israeli government controls the US government based on a lie (no extradition of Jewish criminals). It's the point of the emphasis on AIPAC despite their relatively low lobbying spend compared to other lobbying groups or even other foreign influence efforts. And now it's the point of pushing an unsupported conspiracy about Epstein being a secret Mossad agent who was helping control all of the rich elites. Jews don't care about Epstein; they care about the attempt to create this narrative.. mostly via baseless conspiracies and open lies. Meanwhile, the media is helping to play into it, because they want to use it against Trump and celebrate division on the right. But the result is that they are also normalizing the narratives being sold within those arguments. And some others on the right are also eager to play into that to punish Trump for not listening to them and their anti-interventionist policy preferences on Iran (despite that being a well-supported position among actual Trump supporters). .
