Fireworks catastrophe at German festival: XX injured, including a child

A fireworks display at a festival in Düsseldorf, Germany, ended in disaster when two fireworks exploded at dangerously low altitude — one of them falling directly into the crowd.

Nineteen people were injured, including a child. Four are in serious condition in hospital.

Police are treating the incident as a possible accident. The fair has been shut down until the investigation is complete.
