The Lagos State Taskforce has intensified its clampdown on commercial motorcycle operators, popularly known as Okada, arresting XX riders found operating illegally on restricted routes across the state.
In a statement issued on Friday by Director of Press & Public Affairs for the Lagos State Taskforce, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem,
the enforcement was described as part of a wider effort to curb the activities of โ€œrecalcitrant Okada operatorsโ€ who defy the stateโ€™s ban on motorcycles along highways, bridges, and other restricted areas.

The statement quoted the Taskforce Chairman, CSP Adetayo Akerele, as saying the latest operation was conducted in areas such as Mile X Oke bridge, Mile X under bridge, Berger Suya, Amuwo Odofin, and Apple Junction in the Festac axis.

โ€œThe ban on Okada operations in certain areas was put in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all Lagosians, and we will not tolerate any breach of this order.
