- designing and refining new hardware architectures to push the boundaries of computational efficiency
- using AI in the hardware design process.
- accelerator-friendly hardware design languages like Chisel, alongside VHDL and Verilog.
- simulating training workloads on novel AI hardware architectures

As we know Google and OpenAI partnered with Broadcom for TPU chip development, it is unclear if xAI will be moving in a similar direction.

It cannot be a coincidence that Tesla which also developed its own chips focused on processing video data to help train its semi-autonomous vehicles; is now planning to invest in xAI.
