The EU is totally dependent on two countries it regards as adversaries for rare earths. In 2024, it imported XX% from China and XX% from Russia. That’s nearly three-quarters of the total. 

Good luck making fighter jets, drones, batteries etc if Moscow and Beijing pull the plug.
