Why can the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7's cover screen bezels be so narrow?

Traditional foldable phones typically use a wide waterproof protective layer around the cover screen to achieve water resistance, which increases the bezel width.

However, the Galaxy Z Flip7 integrates waterproofing directly into the display assembly, adopting a new waterproofing technology that replaces the traditional wide sealing gasket. This design significantly reduces the cover screen’s bezel thickness, narrowing it down to approximately 1.25mm, enabling an unprecedented 4.1-inch large cover screen with a near-bezel-less look.
