US companies step in as Syria opens doors after sanctions lifted
——
US-based companies Baker Hughes, Hunt Energy, and Argent LNG will collaborate on creating a masterplan to revive Syria’s oil, gas, and power sectors.

The firms intend to assist in oil and gas exploration and production, as well as power generation, in an effort to help restart Syria’s economy. Their plan follows a wave of interest from other firms, especially from Gulf Arab nations, seeking to invest in Syria’s power and port infrastructure.

"We are initiating the development of a comprehensive masterplan for energy and power generation in Syria, based on a preliminary assessment of opportunities for near-term improvements in generation capacity and service delivery," Argent LNG CEO Jonathan Bass said on Friday.
