EU Targets Russian Banks and Rosneft in New Sanctions Package

The EU has unveiled details of its 18th sanctions package against Russia.

Key points:

— Sanctions hit XX banks, including T-Bank, Yandex Bank, Surgutneftegazbank, and Ozon Bank.

— XX individuals and XX companies are also added to the blacklist.

— All transactions with Nord Stream, Nord Stream 2, and the Russian Direct Investment Fund are now banned.

— The price cap on Russian oil has been lowered from $XX to $XXXX per barrel, with automatic reviews going forward.

— For the first time, sanctions were imposed on Rosneft’s refinery in Gujarat, India — prompting the company to consider leaving the project, as it's unable to repatriate profits.
