Social Security and Medicare—the twin pillars of America’s retirement system—are collapsing under their own weight. Social Security’s trust fund hurtles toward insolvency by 2033, while Medicare’s hospital insurance fund faces depletion by 2028. These programs were designed for 20th-century lifespans, not today’s reality where retirees draw benefits for decades.

The real crisis isn’t the age of retirement—it’s the trillions wasted elsewhere while these critical systems crumble. Foreign aid, green energy subsidies, and bureaucratic bloat siphon funds that should fortify retirement security. Until Washington stops burning cash on ideological pet projects, no retirement age adjustment will fix the underlying rot.

Reform starts with slashing waste—not punishing workers who paid into the system their entire lives.
