Across Protocol is designed to make secure, efficient, and cost-effective transfers of real crypto assets across multiple blockchains. 

Here are some key features on mainnet:

➨ Real Asset Transfers

Across allows users to bridge actual cryptocurrencies and tokens between supported blockchains.

Most transfers move assets from popular Layer X networks (such as Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, zkSync, Scroll, and Linea) to Ethereum Mainnet or between Layer 2s themselves. 

These transactions involve real economic value, not test tokens.

➨ Optimistic Oracle Security (powered by UMA)

To keep transfers secure, Across uses @UMAprotocol’s optimistic oracle.

This system assumes transactions are valid by default but gives a window of time for anyone to challenge fraudulent claims. 

This reduces the need for expensive, constant on-chain verification while maintaining strong security.

➨ Single-Sided Liquidity Pools

Liquidity Providers (LPs) only need to supply funds to one main liquidity pool on Ethereum Mainnet. 

This design concentrates capital in a single place instead of spreading it thinly across different chains, which improves capital efficiency and makes it easier for LPs to earn fees. ↡
