Informed speculation only: I continue to believe that the XXX MWh Trip Ventures MOU is a BESS on Fort Buchanan. A Military Surety Microgrid in the model of Camp Pendleton that will become a replicable model for dozens of other bases in California and beyond.

The developer pays part, buys and sells power on the grid while help stabilizing it. The military pays the rest and gets resilience and backup power without needing to pay for standby diesel and fuel.

NEPA review is the only thing standing in the way of an executable order, and Eos said they could deliver the cubes rapidly. If it were a closed DOE loan or grant ready to go, we would already know that from publicly available information.

We really need that fucking NEPA review stat, Feinberg. Preferably before 7/31.

โ€œThe first MOU with Trip Ventures covers approximately XXX MWh of energy storage for a utility-scale project in Puerto Rico, ๐™ฅ๐™–๐™ง๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™–๐™ก๐™ก๐™ฎ ๐™›๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™™๐™š๐™™ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™ง๐™ค๐™ช๐™œ๐™ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™›๐™š๐™™๐™š๐™ง๐™–๐™ก ๐™œ๐™ค๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง๐™ฃ๐™ข๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ. With Eosโ€™ support, the agreement allows the customer to advance project development, with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review being the final step before the order becomes executable. This initiative aligns with Eosโ€™ strategic focus on delivering safe, resilient, U.S.-manufactured alternatives designed to enhance grid-scale resiliency in harsh island environments prone to extreme weather and thermal risks.โ€
