In rural Kansas, PBS is more than a TV channel — it's a lifeline. Families rely on it for children's programming, farm and weather updates, and local high school sports.

Now, that access is at risk. Congress has cut $XXX billion in federal funding for public media.

At Smoky Hills PBS, which serves XX counties, leaders say the cuts could slash local programming, reduce staff and limit outreach. Advocates warn rural communities with few alternatives will be hit hardest.
