State Sec. Rubio confirmed the release of XX U.S. citizens detained in Venezuela, crediting President Trump and El Salvador’s Nayib Bukele for sealing the deal.

Bukele's government helped broker the swap by agreeing to send detained Venezuelans home in exchange.

Rubio also announced the release includes Venezuelan political prisoners: “This was a major breakthrough.”
