@LukeGromen @LambDownUnder You were better off buying small caps at the beginning of 1974 than gold or gold stocks. Why? 

Those small caps are today's large caps and kept climbing after 1980. 

Gold broke even with the 80s high this year (2025) on an inflation adj basis.
