Fellowship & Grants: how to effectively apply for grants from the Web3 Foundation in @Polkadot

Polkadot actively supports talent and developers through the Web3 Foundation's grant programs - and this is not just financial assistance, but a chance to become part of the core Web3 infrastructure.
If you have an idea that can strengthen Polkadot or Substrate, this opportunity is for you.

Grants are distributed across several areas: developer tools, runtime modules, interfaces, research, and standardization. The key requirement is that your project must be open source and contribute to the development of the ecosystem.
To apply, you need to fill out an application on GitHub, describing the technical specifications, breakdown by stages, and communication plan.

Separately, there is the Polkadot Fellowship initiative - a long-term program for developers who already have experience with Polkadot and want to influence the evolution of the protocol.
Participation in the Fellowship opens up direct access to update processes, core logic development, and deeper interaction with Parity.

To increase your chances of a successful application, you should:

Demonstrate a deep understanding of the ecosystem.

Clearly articulate the problem and explain how your project solves it.

Provide examples of previous work (GitHub, demos, publications).

be open to feedback from the grant committee.

The Web3 Foundation supports not just code, but the people who are building the foundation for a decentralized future. If your idea resonates with Polkadot's values, don't hesitate.
All that separates you from a grant is a quality idea, a well-written application, and a willingness to build.
