Most “decentralized AI” builders still depend on centralized storage.

Ask where their models and training data are hosted, and the answer is usually AWS, Google Drive, or Dropbox. That’s a problem.

One takedown notice, one terms-of-service flag, and everything breaks.

@OG_labs started from this core issue: if data is one of the three essentials of AI (alongside model and compute), then storage is too important to leave to centralized services. So they built 0G Storage, a decentralized system fast enough to match AWS, but built for open, verifiable AI.

To meet that goal, 0G Storage was designed with the following in mind:

✓ Costs that scale better than AWS

✓ Instant access, even for large files

✓ Support for both Web2 and blockchain-native systems

✓ Already tested with terabyte-scale workloads.

Files are stored off-chain, while metadata such as ownership, access, and usage stays on-chain. Anyone can run a storage node and earn rewards.

It’s part of a broader shift, away from closed AI systems where there is no visibility into how the model was trained, what data was used, or who made decisions, toward systems where everything can be checked, traced, and verified.

In decentralized AI, visibility matters, and 0G starts from the base: storage.

So far, 0G Storage has integrated with more than 80+ projects, from AI builders managing large training sets to DePIN networks storing proofs and coordination data. What they share is a need for speed, scale, and a system they can trust.
