U.S. Attorney Alina Habba informed her staff on Thursday that her term as a federal prosecutor may end on Tuesday, when her 120-day appointment limit, set by the U.S. Attorney General, expires. 

However, she expressed hope to remain in her role past that date, pending the outcome of a federal judges' meeting on Monday. 

A source with direct knowledge of the meeting, speaking anonymously, said earlier today that Habba indicated she expects to leave next week.
