@Ada4goodP @Cerkoryn IOG Research claimed it is important for Sybil resistance. If Emurgo as a founding entity thinks the research is wrong it has a moral duty to declare the pledge research/implementation wrong or if not - to increase its pledge.

I see the current behavior as a moral failure.
