turns out that @mistralai also came out w an asr (speech to text) model a few days ago, voxtral🗣️ from what i can tell on x it's blowing up - open weights (3b mini + 24b small), claims to smash whisper on wer (5.1% short-form), multilingual w/ auto detect, fuses transcription + summaries/q&a/function calls in 32k context, cheap api $0.001/min

buzz is it's sota contender vs @nvidia's canary-qwen-2.5b (current leaderboard top at XXXX% wer) but voxtral not tested there yet

> rec for now: stick w/ canary-qwen🐦‍🔥 for verified perf + efficiency if u need proven accuracy/speed rn
BUT try voxtral mini/small for that integrated speech smarts + low cost if ur building voice apps🙊
