I’ll make this point here. 

After firing Comey and Mueller getting appointed Trump said in an interview with Lester Holt this would extend things but it would be better. 

Why?

IMO because he knew Comey and McCabe would do anything to destroy him. 

He hoped Mueller would tell the truth.
