Australia: Mad Max (either the original or Road Warrior). Fury Road is the best, but it was filmed in Namibia. You could also go with Babe. Also related to George Miller. Adorable film. Nominated for Best Picture, even.

Africa: Hotel Rwanda. Or a more positive subject matter, The Boy Who Harnesses the Wind.

Latin America: Frida. The four hour biopic of Che w Benicio Del Toro was good. Oh, I also adored Roma. Brought me to tears, twice.

Europe: "Once." Lovely short little musical. Oh, and Waking Ned Divine... cuz you know. Oh, for animated, I really loved the three Celtic films from Cartoon Saloon: Secret of the Kells, Song of the Sea, and Wolf Walkers. They're absolutely gorgeous.
