#OTD 1926 – Scottish entrepreneur, sportsman and tea merchant Sir Thomas Lipton donates 3-foot sterling silver trophy to Washington State FA. Jack Simpson, WSFA president, had written Lipton, requesting a trophy for Seattle Soccer (youth) League. Trophy was then valued at $1500.
