Look, you've gotta take XX% of your salary or any money you make cutting the lawn or whatever it is and you've got to invest it. What my mother did was never let more than X% into any one stock and no more than XX% into any one sector. She didn't have ETFs back then. Now you can do this easily with an ETF, you can download an app. The key is have the discipline to save XX% from your average salary and if you start in your mid-20s and you have the discipline not to buy more crap you will be wealthy by the time you retire.
