13-year-old Camp Mystic, Texas survivor rewrites the lyrics to Hallelujah in the aftermath of the floods

This gave me chills.

Skyler Derrington, who has attended Camp Mystic in Texas since she was young, was among those who escaped the devastating floods while at the camp, which sits on the banks of the Guadalupe River in Texas Hill Country. 

In the aftermath, she rewrote the song “Hallelujah,” turning her experience into a heartfelt tribute to resilience, community, and the place she’s loved since childhood.
