#OTD  in 1976.

The British GP had to be red-flagged after a first lap pile-up. James Hunt (McLaren) went on to win the restarted race. Niki Lauda 2nd for Ferrari & Jody Scheckter 3rd in a Tyrrell. Ferrari would protest the result & Hunt would be disqualified two months later.
