Teams have tactically adapted by either pressing very high and man-to-man (much more coordinated than before) or sit in a mid-block. Either way, GKs are no longer in a position to pick out passes without feeling the pressure. In previous years, Ederson could get the ball back and just pick out any pass or long ball with ease. That rarely happens anymore. He’s more often put under immense pressure from the start and clearing the ball right away. That’s why traditional GKs are becoming the norm again, in my opinion. You see Donnarumma, a traditional shot-stopper, playing in a very possession-based team. Despite the fact that his weaknesses are with the ball in his feet. Does that matter? No, he makes up for it with his world class shot-stopping abilities. That’s why I honestly believe City should target a proper traditional, shot-stopper. Last season we conceded a lot of goals which could’ve been prevented with a better shot-stopper in goal. Does James Trafford fit this criteria? Well, he’s definitely a better shot-stopper than Ederson. XXXXXX engagements **Related Topics** [playing](/topic/playing) [Post Link](https://x.com/RealTalkMCFC/status/1946258444102545788)
