🚨🇺🇸 UH, SAM… ABOUT THAT IPO: OPENAI BOARD WANTS NONPROFIT BACK IN CHARGE

OpenAI’s advisory board just threw cold water on any dreams of taking the company fully corporate.

In a new report, they say AI is “too consequential” to be left to profit-hungry execs and want stronger nonprofit control, more public oversight, and funding that actually helps people  - not just investors.

They’re calling for money to go into education, healthcare, even the arts  -  not another yacht.

OpenAI’s got $23M in nonprofit assets and a growing for-profit empire… but the board’s message is clear: keep the mission public, or lose the trust.
