This is Senator Monday Okpebholo, a sitting governor of Edo State in Southern Nigeria. He is seen threatening the life of Mr. Peter Obi, a private citizen in a supposed democratic country.

This threat is contrary to Section XX of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended):

(1) Every citizen of Nigeria is entitled to move freely throughout Nigeria and to reside in any part thereof, and no citizen of Nigeria shall be expelled from Nigeria or refused entry thereto or exit therefrom.

I call on the international community to take note and urge the power-drunk governor to act responsibly. Peter Obi commands the support of millions of Nigerian youths at home and abroad, and his safety is paramount to maintaining peace in the region.
