Uber to invest $XXX million in EV maker Lucid as part of robotaxi deal

[1] Uber will invest $XXX million in electric car maker Lucid to launch self-driving robotaxis starting in one U.S. city in late 2026.

[2] Uber, Lucid, and Nuro plan to use over XXXXXX Lucid Gravity SUVs with Nuro’s self-driving tech over six years.

[3] Lucid’s stock jumped XX% after the news and also announced a plan to do a reverse stock split.

[4] Nuro, started by ex-Waymo engineers, will supply the driverless technology and has already begun testing in Las Vegas.

[5] Uber is re-entering the robotaxi space after stopping its own self-driving efforts in 2020, now teaming up with partners like Lucid and Volkswagen.
