In 67, Egypt’s Nasser set the stage for war by: (1) ordering troops into Sinai; (2) demanding UN peacekeeping forces leave; & (3) closing the Straits of Tiran in an act of war.

Then Nasser made clear his intent to reverse Arab states’ failure to prevent Israel from being born.

Specifically he said, “The issue is no longer Aqaba or the Straits of Tiran. The issue is the ‘aggression against Palestine’ that took place in 1948.”
