Under no circumstances should anyone allow Syria to once again become the center of violence. I’m not a fan of Jolani and I’m not a fan of this whole charade that he plays - but the way things in Syria are developing is concerning for everyone. Worse than open hostilities, are the current hostilities in which everyone mistrusts each other and where everyone is scheming against the other in an attempt to consolidate power. These backhand hostilities quickly lead to severe escalations. For Syria - the way to conquer Suweida is through development and prosperity. Do it like every successful before you has done it - not by violence but by economic prosperity, peace and stability. If Hijri is a problem for Syria - then let Hijri be in charge of Suweida for a year and let Syria develop to become a stable state - I guarantee that even his most loyal supporters will grow tired of him. Hijri however is not actually the real problem here. Countries in the Middle East always go through the same pattern - violence and destruction instead of peace and prosperity. No one wants to fight and no one wants war - create conditions in which no one has to fight and your nation will be pacified. Let X village in Suweida be controlled by the Syrian Government Forces to build trust - if they do their job well then the Druze will naturally be inclined to fully integrate into the Syrian state. Instead - since day X Syria has used horribly hostile rhetoric against the Druze and other minorities in Syria. Instead of going the route that successful-divided nations have gone before to unify, New Syria has chosen the route of violence. Just like his predecessor and the foundation it was built on.
