This is a massive step forward for India’s defence and aerospace sector. Co-developing a next-gen fighter jet engine with Safran 🇫🇷 not only boosts India’s indigenous capabilities but also ends a decades-long reliance on foreign engines like GE and Rolls-Royce.

🔹 The ₹61,000 crore project is aimed at developing an engine with XXX kN+ thrust, essential for India’s upcoming 5th-generation AMCA (Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft) stealth fighter.
🔹 The collaboration ensures complete technology transfer, meaning India won’t just assemble or license-produce — we’ll be designing and building it in partnership.
🔹 This will give India a strategic edge, especially since engine tech is one of the most guarded and complex defence technologies in the world.
