Ferrari: what to expect from the new suspension at Spa:

— The Belgian Grand Prix is pivotal for Ferrari as they debut an updated rear suspension on the SF-25. This change aims to close the gap with McLaren and secure stage wins. The Eau Rouge compression will test if the new rear end improves ground clearance management.

— The new suspension targets ground clearance issues, first noted in China with Hamilton's disqualification due to excessive wear. The challenge is balancing platform control without extreme mechanical adjustments, as a stiff rear end affects balance and grip in slow corners.

— Ferrari's technical team is focusing on crucial areas, as lowering static ground clearance by a millimeter can gain about half a tenth per lap. This enhances ground effect and load release. While no major design changes are made, modifications to suspension attachment points are possible.

— The Maranello team plans to declare only visible updates, but internal mechanics may see changes transferable to the 2026 project. The package requires calibration to adjust stiffness and height, with real behavior only verifiable on track despite simulator tests.

— The Sprint format in Belgium complicates testing, with only one practice session available. Ferrari used a Filming Day at Mugello to fine-tune the package, as the track shares characteristics with Spa, crucial for managing ground clearance and wear.

— The effectiveness of the new suspension will be clearer during the Ardennes weekend, especially in fast curves like Pouhon. Distinguishing between Ferrari's inherent speed and the suspension's impact will be challenging, but improvements could lead to stage victories on tracks like Monza.
