But this wasn’t in a deprived area of Northern England which saw similar protests in the wake of the Southport Massacre, this was in the heart of boujee Essex, with trendy Chigwell next door and posh Loughton just down the road and it was the site of absolute scenes as tensions boiled over. A young schoolgirl was eating pizza in town when approached by the 41-year-old man who had arrived in the UK two weeks earlier. Of course, in no other period of history would people allow groups of men to roam around the country abusing the local women, this would be seen as an occupation or declaration of war. The Liberal argument that it was only one individual, and we cannot therefore judge the entire group is highly unrealistic as if a trend emerges within a group other groups will take notice and act accordingly. One of the women speaking at the rally said the fact that she can no longer allow her daughters to walk to school alone in a previously safe area like Epping is outrageous, and judging by the turnout it seems many would agree. So, what did the police do in this situation? They marched a bunch of counter protests into the midst of the scene, including several glowies who immediately caused the whole protest to explode leading to the police to be chased off the scene. Obviously, this justified the police to returning like an invading army with riot shields and smashing locals in the face, inflaming the perception that the State is now hostile force, focused on crushing it citizens problems rather than solving them. And so, the Battle of Bell reflects the bubbling discontent as the crisis of State legitimacy breaks the surface; a disconnected and arrogant elite, ignoring the concerns of their people and instead callously stamping down on them, further fuelling the very discontent they are seeking to supress.
