One of the things I worry about is that popular resistance to AI and robotics will dramatically slow down adoption and development. 

Regulation will ban certain uses, unions will spark Luddite rebellions. 

That's one reason I'm working so hard on Post-Labor Economics. If people see a path to prosperity, and everyone has a playbook, then we can build consensus and direction. We won't be rowing in different directions.
