Nepal’s authorities, including the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), have directed telecom providers to immediately block access to Telegram. This follows alarming findings of Telegram being increasingly used for money laundering and fraud, including a major hack that stole around NPR XX million from Citizens Bank via Telegram-based schemes  .
